Every day is an adventure... dress accordingly!

C is for Cookie and Cookie is for Me!

I freaking love cookies. One typically stormy day here in New Jersey, I was watching the film “Big Eyes” with my Dad while munching on my current favorite sweet treat – Tate’s Chocolate Chip Cookies. They’re gluten free (which sounds better for you, but who really cares because no one knows what that really means – I love that they have chocolate in them and taste homemade). I was so cozy tucked into my furry blanket, covered in the aftermath of crumbs. Due to my love for all things furry and all things sweet, I came to the conclusion that my spirit animal, or rather spirit monster, is none other than the loveable Cookie Monster.

In the film, Margaret Keane states that the reason why she emphasizes the eyes in her famous paintings is because the eyes are “the windows of the soul”. Well, if this is true, Cookie Monster’s googly eyes depict his enthusiastic reaction and adoration to tasty treats as well as portraying that keeping up with the chaotic world around us warrants such vices.

When I crossed paths with this beautifully bright blue Michael Kors coat, I knew all of the stars aligned to bring me this new furry and super soft topper. The price was unbeatable and all I wanted to do is strut out of the store with it on, growling and run to the nearest cookie jar.

I actually have a lot in common with the furry fella. We both like sharing with friends, are uncontrollable around delicious foods and enjoy telling stories (hellooo Monsterpiece theatre). If only I could nail that drunken Irish heavy metal voice and vocabulary, our resemblance would be spot on.

Paired with black and white (inspired by those awesome eyes of his with a dash of Yayoi Kusama), this bright blue really pops as a statement color of happiness. It’s just super fun, just like the monster himself!

“Today me will live in the moment,

unless it’s unpleasant in which

case me will eat a cookie.”

Mad props to my girls Patricia Rodriguez for her photography, Gina Rosario for her direction and Twisters in Lakewood, NJ for the most fun day EVER.

PS. Love this outtake of me and my fellow monster, Marley 😉DSC07808

“Sometimes Me Think, ‘What is Friend?’

and then me say,

‘Friend is someone to share

the last cookie with.'”

PSS. I’m available for birthday parties and bat mitzvahs 😉

Doe, a deer. A female deer.

Like the delicate framework of handmade antique lace, the doe is a fascinating, gentle creature.

Sure, the original judgement upon these fine creatures by many drivers and their mauled vehicles is that they have horrid peripheral vision. Hunters see these fine ladies as nothing but a sweet piece of venison, and less desirable due to their general lack of decorative trophy horns like their male counterparts, the bucks.

Yet, they are sensitive and strong, as they tirelessly care for their fawn and travel in packs with other does, while looking out for each other.

I would like to think that if they did sport a wild headdress, it would depict these characteristics of strength, fragility, grace and gentility as they constantly move throughout the unpredictable wilderness, handling whatever they may come across with style and finesse.

That will bring us back to DO. 😉
